- Off-season check-in times: Monday–Sunday at 3 pm
- Summer check-in: Sundays at 4 pm
Check-out is at 11 am all year round.
We love our furry friends! Our resort is pet-friendly for an additional charge of $40 per night. We only ask that you let us know you’re bringing a pet. Please also be respectful of the resort and your fellow guests. Pets may stay in your room, but they are not allowed in the pool area. Failure to register your pet will result in a $200 fee.
Cancellations must be canceled more than 14 days prior to arrival date will receive a full refund less a $50 fee. Cancellations less than 14 days prior will result in loss of your deposit. July 4th and Labor Day weekend reservations must cancel at least 60 days in advance and will be subject to a $50 fee. Otherwise, the entire deposit will be forfeited.
Guest safety is our top priority. At The Dunes Resort, we have implemented a bag policy to ensure the comfort, safety, and convenience of our guests and staff. We kindly request that guests adhere to the following guidelines:
To maintain safety around our facilities, we have established size limitations for bags.
POOL AREA:
- Approved bags include:
- Totes no larger than 14” x 14”
- Small bags no larger than 5” x 8” x 1”
- Backpacks no larger than 17” x 14” x 8”
- Bags exceeding these dimensions will be denied entry into resort areas.
- Upon arrival, all bags are subject to search by The Dunes staff.
- Bags that are not clear will be subject to additional search.
INSIDE AREA:
- Approved bags include:
- Small bags no larger than 5” x 8” x 1”
- Backpacks aren’t permitted.
- Bags exceeding these dimensions will be denied entry into resort areas.
- Upon arrival, all bags are subject to search by The Dunes staff.
- Bags that are not clear will be subject to additional search.
For the safety and comfort of all our guests, certain items are prohibited from being brought onto the resort premises. These include weapons, firearms, explosives, illegal substances or drugs, and flammable, hazardous, or toxic materials. Guests are also prohibited from bringing in food and beverages to the pool and public areas.
Please note that guests are responsible for the safety and security of their own belongings. The resort will not be held liable for any loss, theft, or damage to guests’ bags or personal items.

FAQs
Every weekend might be different, but on busier weekends in July and August, we occasionally require a 3-night minimum. This varies largely depending on the season and entertainment, so please ask us for more information when making your reservation request.
- Weekend rates: $80 per cabana
- Weekly rates (M-Th): $30 per cabana
- Holiday rates: $200 per cabana (5/23-5/26, 7/3-7/7, 8/29-9/1)
We abide by the following state law regarding smoking:
Effective May 1, 2010, Michigan ACT NO. 188 Public Acts of 2009 – This Law bans smoking of any type in all public spaces including bars, pool, restaurants, and hotel rooms (which includes all Dunes Resort Bar areas and hotel rooms).
We do not allow vaping. This includes medical and recreational marijuana. There is a $200 penalty for smoking in any room.
Your final room payment is due when you check in at the front desk. We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, or cash. There is an ATM on site. You’ll be charged $25 per person per day for occupancy over 2 people per room with an 11% tax added to room rates.
