The Rubi Girls
THE RUBI GIRLS packed the house and rocked our stage in August of 2010 at The Dunes, and they'll be back again on July 17, 2011. Though their shows raise awareness and benefit HIV/AIDS organizations, their performances are achingly funny. Guests at last year's show had these things to say: "I am still a bit sore in the cheeks from laughing so much." "That was a great night, probably one of the best I've had in a long time." "...to say I was blown away would be an understatement."
The Rubi Girls have been performing together since the late 1980's. In 2003, a documentary about the comedic drag troupe screened and won numerous awards at film festivals around the world. Comprised of school teachers, business owners, a counselor, a filmmaker and a graphic designer, THE RUBI GIRLS are old friends with full-time jobs who perform together for a good cause...and for free cocktails.
